We get a lot of our meat from Ryan Boon Speciality Meats in Paarl. Ryan goes out of his way to source grass-fed beef and pasture-reared pork and is always able to tell us exactly where our meat comes from
At Starlings our house chicken is from Lazena Poultry. Lazena poultry is a family owned business based in Gordon’s Bay and their chicken is free range, free from antibiotics, growth stimulants or hormones.
We use Montagu cheddar as our house cheese. We love that it tastes like real cheese. Nothing added. It’s made from unpasteurised full cream milk from grass fed cattle, naturally matured.

I happened upon a slice of sourdough the other day. Freshly toasted. So tempting. I did succumb. I slathered it in real butter and dripped the divine Gardener’s Glory honey all over it. Heaven.
